Connection; Anne Frank

I don't know how, and I don't know why. When asking to make a connection the first thing I thought of was The Boy In The Striped Pajamas. Bruno a boy in this book leaves everything he has because he does not feel like he belongs with his friends and family. Where as Anne does not fit in with the fact that she is a Jew. They both not necessarily run away but, in Anne's case go into hiding. In Bruno the boy goes on an adventure and finds a concentration camp. They do in fact have a much bigger connection then that. Anne herself goes into hiding because she is a Jew. Now the boy, Bruno finds in a concentration camp for Jews and Jew only. So even just judging by the little bits I have told you, you can tell that their is many things that are alike . Their stories are both very different in many way also, but somehow they make a connection from the texts in the novels. Another thing that I found is that they are both semi depressing stories. As Bruno finds the camp he is forced to stay in the camp and be apart of everything involving the camp. Now I have not read to far into Anne Frank but things at this point don't seem to be looking up. I am looking forward to reading more, and keeping you posted!

  1. Well written Danielle. I liked how you made more than one connection between the stories. Did you find any spiritual connections or connections that aren't right there in front of you( eg. similar personalities)? When I read your post I thought of my friend who is Jewish and has been bullied at his school because of it. Don't forget to indent your paragraphs before you publish them.

  2. I think generally this is a nicely written piece, however make sure you check your work for grammatical errors and typos. Some of your sentences could be refined by changing just one word, for example;"They both not necessarily run away...." could be improved dramatically if you used the word don't instead of not. Make sure you ponder over the choice of these simple and yet important words. Also how is this book related to you, and your life?
